The Ancient Agora is located north of the Acropolis at 24 Adrianou Street. It was the political, commercial, and social center of ancient Athens. Today the restored Stoa of Attalos survives, functioning as a museum with finds from the area. The site is dominated by the Temple of Hephaestus (Theseion), one of the best-preserved ancient temples.
